Moving to Newcastle & Career change
Louise moved to Newcastle with her partner Dave in 2024, following Dave’s diagnosis with Becker Muscular Dystrophy (a rare progressive muscle wasting condition) owing to the level of care and compassion received at the RVI, on the clinical trial Dave participates in.
Dave’s diagnosis was life-changing and amongst all the challenges, it also brought a new perspective. This led Louise to make a career change in 2025, following 10 years in ecommerce and project management roles. She returned to her creative roots - merging her love of fabric and meaningful words to create bespoke handmade banners with the words you cherish. Louise loves the way banners traditionally brought groups and communities together and uses them to celebrate feelings.
This Valentine's Day
In the run up to Valentine’s Day 2026, Louise photographed her red velvet handmade banner which reads “All my heart is yours”, around key places in Newcastle and the North East.
Whilst Wuthering Heights has garnered attention ahead of the new film, “All my heart is yours” is inspired by Charlotte Brontë’s Jane Eyre - spoken to Mr. Rochester, to express her devotion.
For Louise, it’s a declaration of love to the city and wonderful warmth and kindness that met her in moving here. It’s an invitation - to launch her bespoke handmade banner business - to say I’m here, for your words, stories and to make you something you’ll treasure.
