Handmade banner for The Sunday Letter Project
Every revolution needs a banner, even the quiet ones.
A bespoke handmade banner in bottle green velvet, for window display in the Wildflower shop, in Cheltenham to promote The Sunday Letter Project.
What is The Sunday Letter Project?
The Sunday Letter Project is an invitation to dedicate time each week to letter writing. Started in 2025, there are now over 10,000 people who have taken the pledge, meaning over 500,000 letters will be sent this year - creating connection and spreading so much joy.
I took the pledge at the start of 2026 and have valued my weekly letter writing time. You can take the pledge and receive a weekly writing prompt.

Letter writing for wellbeing or find a pen pal
The weekly prompt is just a suggestion, and you can choose to write to yourself, a loved one or find a pen pal through the network of independent businesses set up as "letter keepers" so you don't need to share your home address.
Letter writing means a break from screens, carving out time for ourselves and focussing our attention. There's so much thought and care that goes into writing, and nothing more gorgeous to receive than a handwritten letter.
I love that handwritten letters are something we treasure - that people would have collections of love letters, invitations and photographs, all carefully kept. The banners I create are designed to be treasured in the same way.

Bespoke banners for visual merchandising and retail display
A banner can act as a standalone statement piece with a brand message, or form part of a backdrop for photography. Velvet adds a rich luxurious texture and depth of colour, whilst an intentionally timeless design keeps the focus on your words.
The traditional design, with a contemporary refined typography allows a handmade banner to work equally well for established heritage brands, as for new projects - creating a statement and intent. The celebratory nature makes them well suited to different retail spaces and I create banners for brand activation, announcements, launches or social media content.
Each banner is handmade in the UK, with a focus on creating a beautiful finish, aligned to brands who value quality, craftsmanship and care.
"We absolutely love our Sunday Letter Project banner from Louise. The craftsmanship is exquisite and it’s so wonderful to have something handmade to champion the values of the movement. It is displayed proudly in the window of the shop and gets many admirers- thank you so much Louise!"
